I had always wanted to do this, make an overly extravagant bed for our cats! I ended up giving it to my mom for a Christmas present last year!
It's made from an upside-down end table I found on craigslist ($10). That was painted white and the cushion is just stuffed yellow fleece! Then leftover fabric and yarn for the drapes!
Total Time of Construction: 2 hours
Total Cost: around $12
Definitely recreate able! Just find an end table and get to work!
I'm Laura and I make things! I can show you how I do it and help you make things too! (and *hopefully* without spending much!)

Make Guppy a Travel Case!
Guppy might want to visit Snugz, her mom, every now or then! Better yet, when it warms up, Guppy might want to go to college to learn about the design of machine elements or come to bible study to learn about Jesus! Guppy is very blessed, not lucky, to have her very own travel center!
Notice the water dish, mini tube and connection pipe so it can network with the rest of her home!
Construction time: 45 minutes
Construction cost: $4.00

Makes a T Shirt blanket!
Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while! Well, good news! Over break I made this lil' guy!
It's a t-shirt blanket! I quadrupled the thick padding I got so it's super warm and thick and smushy! It also has fleece edges that I'm not super happy with and might redo someday.
Construction time: 6 hours
Construction cost: $15-$20 ish? I bought the red flannel, fleece and backing

Makes a Most Shocking Discovery!!!
I work in a lab and titrate a LOT of solutions. I measure a LOT of pHs. There was ALWAYS this one that I REALLY wanted to know the pH of. And I finally, after 3.5 years did it. I measured the pH of my Mountain Dew.
I setup the above test in between titrating a 5L flask of 0.01M NaCl to pH 5 and moving pH's for some mobility samples. I used the cutest mini-beaker ever for the Mountain dew and because we're an amazing lab, the meter was recently calibrated. The results are accurate.
*Warning: This. May. Shock. You.*
Right. So, I've followed up my research with this website: http://www.21stcenturydental.com/smith/pH_drinks.htm . It compares more sodas and their data seems to think that Mt Dew is actually a pH of 3.22.

FAQ
- Are any sodas worse than Mountain Dew? Yes. Obviously because Mountain Dew is amazing. A short list includes: Coke original, Battery Acid, Capri Sun, Gatorade, Pepsi, Country Time Lemonade, Lipton Brisk, Hawaiian Punch, Dr Pepper, Propel, Snapple Tea, Code Red, and many more.
- What else can we compare this to? Stomach Acid is usually around a pH of 2. Water is pH 7.
- How bad is this for your teeth? Ok it's bad. "Demineralization, or loss of tooth material, begins at a pH of 5.5"
- Well, I'm a smarty pants that wants to pick on you more about your Mountain Dew consumption. Isn't it also true that Mountain Dew has an extraordinarily high amount of sugar? Oooooh where'd you hear this? The smart people store? Mountain dew has 46 grams of sugar. BIG DEAL. It's the best tasting stuff ever. So. There. There's more carbonated water than high fructose corn syrup (WATER!!) AND the third most present ingredient in this beverage is concentrated orange juice. Fact.
- I'm guess this new information will stop you from drinking it, right? Guess again.
